In this area which is close to the City Gate there are many structures dating from the Seljuk Period, so it is termed Seljuk Street. Within Kaleici this area is the most defensible in the neighborhood called Selcuk in Kaleiçi and is the highest and most sheltered area of the settlement. This area had been employed from the first settlement period besidesbeing used as an acropolis of the settlement during the Hellenistic Period. It was probably the location of some cultural, social and religious structures and for the palace in the Byzantine and Seljuk Periods structures. There are some of the described structures such as: YivliMinare, Yivli Minare Mosque, İmaret Medresesi, Atabey Armağan Medresesi, Mevlevihane, Yivli Minare Hamamı, Zincirkıran Mehmet Bey Turbe and Nigar Hatun Turbe within the mosque complex in which were the first constructed Islamic buildings.
