Entering through Forty Stairs to Kaleici, it may catch your eye that there are Roman columns laid on their sides in the inner walls which surroundthe northern part of the city the ends of these columns employed as an area for inscription. The inscription in Arabic placed in the walls which continuing along the street of UzunÇarşı towards Kale Kapısıwhen the inscribed parts are read together, record the entireFetihname of İzzed-DinKeykavus who recaptured Antalya in 1216 during the month of fasting after the revolt against Seljuk rule of 1212. This conquest inscription should have 44 parts, but some have been lost from storage, 26 remain in position, while 7 of them are preserved in the Antalya Museum.
