Karaalioğlu Park
In Antalya, the Karaalioğlupark is the most important established resting and recreation area in the city center where you can view the Mediterranean, the limestone cliffs of Konyaaltı and the Beydağları Mountains across the bay. The park is spread over an area of approximately 145,000 m2 including a stadium, a gymnasium and a building for official wedding ceremonies next to Antalya Metropolitan Municipality. Referred to as the Karaalioğlu Garden, which was opened in the first half of 1940 by Hasim Iscan, in the beginning the area was originally organized under the name of the Inönu Park. Plants such as citrus, palm and oleander trees, various other types of plants and flowers, where wide promenades extend to cliff-top and the sea below and terraces in this area. There are also resting areas and a variety of exotic birds in this open air park. It was equipped with art works in 1970, in this regard, the sculptures made by Mehmet Aksoy, entitled, "Workers and Son Statue" and that made by Raven Acer, "Hand Statue" were dedicated to HasimIscan and also the, "Don Kişot Statue" made by Cahvar Göktaş arranged in a space between the terrace levels. Finally in 2010 a monument with a relief was raised by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality in the Karaalioğlu Park dedicated to the world-famous poet Nazım Hikmet Ran on the 47th anniversary of his death.
