Antalya’s historic city center, Kaleiçi – a place where traces of the past blend with the rhythm of today – is opening its doors to world cities for the 10th time. Organized by Muratpaşa Municipality, the Kaleiçi Old Town Festival will be held between October 9–12.

A delegation from Kutaisi, Georgia’s second-largest city, visited Antalya’s Muratpaşa Municipality to observe the municipality’s participatory local governance and sustainability projects on site.

Antalya’s living history, Kaleiçi, will bring together cycling enthusiasts on September 27–28 with Pedalia Fest Old Town. Contributing to Antalya’s vision of becoming the “capital of cycling,” the festival will enliven the ancient city for two days with bike races, public rides, concerts, free games, and pasta parties.

Antalya Muratpaşa Municipality is opening the historic streets of Kaleiçi to sports within the scope of the 10th International Kaleiçi Old Town Festival. For the first time this year, an orienteering competition will be held in the narrow, maze-like streets. Applications for the race, which will take place on Sunday, October 12, have already started at spor.muratpasa-bld.gov.tr.

Antalya Muratpaşa Municipality will host delegations from 26 cities across 21 countries at the 10th Kaleiçi Old Town Festival. Cities from Italy to Ukraine, from Ireland to Lebanon, and from Hungary to Montenegro will gather in Antalya for the festival, which will take place between October 9–12.

Muratpaşa Municipality has placed a panel in Cumhuriyet Square featuring the names of 116 cities from around the world that have participated in the Kaleiçi Old Town Festival.

Antalya Muratpaşa Mayor Ümit Uysal said at the 10th European Conference on Sustainable Cities & Towns held in Denmark, "The place of the Republic founded by Atatürk should be within the European Union (EU)."

At the opening dinner of the 9th Kaleiçi Old Town Festival, Antalya Muratpaşa Mayor Ümit Uysal stated that if humanity does not protect cultural assets and heritage, the world will experience a decline in both peace and aesthetics.

The municipal delegations from 23 cities across 18 countries, attending the 9th Kaleiçi Old Town Festival organized by Antalya Muratpaşa Municipality, visited the festival's host, Mayor Ümit Uysal, as well as Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin.

The traditional procession of the Kaleiçi Old Town Festival organized by Antalya Muratpaşa Municipality was the scene of colorful scenes on the streets of the living ancient city. While Kaleiçi accompanied all its guests to the lively songs of the festival band, wooden legs and fire magicians attracted great attention.

Antalya Muratpaşa Mayor Ümit Uysal, in the forum titled ‘migration and intercultural harmony’ held at the 9th Kaleiçi Old Town Festival, stated that there is a very large-scale migration movement in the world and said, “This is producing a world where tolerance and integration have become very, very important.”

On the occasion of the commencement of diplomatic relations between Czechia and Turkey and the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, the Czech Republic, sister city of Muratpaşa Municipality, opened the ‘Czech-Turkish Cooperation Park’ in its capital Prague 6.

Antalya Muratpaşa Municipality shared the joy of the New Year with its sister cities around the world. In mutual congratulatory messages exchanged with 21 cities spanning a wide geography from Belgium to China, Indonesia to Ukraine, the emphasis was on peace, solidarity, and brotherhood.
