While Muratpaşa Municipality continues to strengthen global friendships through the Kaleiçi Old Town Festival, which will celebrate its 10th edition this year, the New Year celebrations took the cultural collaborations with these cities a step further.
Muratpaşa Mayor Ümit Uysal highlighted the significance of these meaningful celebrations in contributing to world peace, saying, “We hope the warm climate of friendship born in Muratpaşa spreads across the world. Together, we will continue to take steps toward a world filled with peace and brotherhood.”
Muratpaşa Municipality celebrated the New Year with cities including Prague 6 and Pribor from the Czech Republic; Bruges from Belgium; Guilin from the People’s Republic of China; Rostov-on-Don from Russia; Noto and Amelia from Italy; Sibiu from Romania; Semarang from Indonesia; Niš from Serbia; Szigetvár from Hungary; Bethlehem from Palestine; Ukmergė from Lithuania; Comrat from Moldova; Radom from Poland; Mykolaiv and Ternopil from Ukraine; Jajce from Bosnia and Herzegovina; Kutaisi from Georgia; Vranje from Serbia; and Pogradec from Albania.
The New Year messages emphasized peace and brotherhood, while underlining that such collaborations strengthen intercultural ties.
