Muratpaşa Municipality has started preparations for the 'Flower Patterns Festival', which will transform the streets and parks of Antalya into a carpet of flowers. In this colorful festival to be held in May, groups from high schools will compete to create the most beautiful flower pattern.
Antalya, a leader in the cut flower sector, will showcase the magnificent beauty of flowers with this new festival of Muratpaşa Municipality. For the festival planned to be held in May next year, seeds were planted in the municipality's greenhouse and plant production facilities to grow colorful flowers.
Muratpaşa Mayor Ümit Uysal stated that 25 student groups of 10 students each will compete under the guidance of an art teacher from high schools in the festival where the most beautiful flower pattern will be selected. Applications for these groups who will compete to create the most beautiful flower pattern will open on September 2 and end on October 18. Applications will be made through the municipality's website and sketches of the pattern to be applied will also be submitted during the application.
After the applications are completed, a delegation from Noto, a city on the UNESCO World Heritage List in Sicily that has been hosting a flower festival for over 30 years, will come to Antalya. The experienced delegation will guide the students by working on the patterns with the groups selected for the competition.
